Welcome to our school

‘First the blade, then the ear, then the full grain’ Mark 4:28
Our Values; Honesty, Love & Care, Respect
It is an honour to join Gillamoor CE Primary as Headteacher. From my very first day, I have been struck by the warmth of this community and the clear sense that children are at the heart of all we do.
I look forward to meeting every child, family, and member of the wider community in the weeks ahead. To help with this, I will be offering times after school where you can come and share your thoughts on what makes Gillamoor special and how we can continue to grow together. There is a rich history to our wonderful school (that was built many years ago in 1876!) that I look forward to discovering.
My vision is simple: to ensure every child feels valued, inspired, and supported to reach their full potential; to make everyone feel welcome in our school family; and to strengthen the vital links between school, church, and community. As a staff tea we have continued to work on building a school environment that is warm, welcoming and safe so that all our children can access a curriculum that inspires them academically, physically, socially, morally and spiritually.
Our website is going through a stage of development to reflect our school and community so do keep an eye on changes but the best way to see us is to come and visit our staff and children in person. To arrange a time contact the school office on 01751 431643.

I am excited for the journey ahead and thank you for the warm welcome I have already received. Together, I know we can make Gillamoor CE Primary a place of belonging, joy, and pride for all.

Rooted in our community

Gillamoor Church

St Aidan's Church is an Anglican church in Gillamoor. The church was built in Gillamoor in the 12th century. In 1802, it was entirely rebuilt by the local stonemason James Smith, using stone from a redundant church in Bransdale.

Our School

We are known for our close community, Christian values (Love, Care, Honesty, Respect), and nurturing family atmosphere, focusing on independent learning and always following our core values.

Surprise View

This is a renowned panoramic viewpoint next to the village church, offering stunning vistas across Douthwaite Dale towards Farndale and Hutton-le-Hole, featuring open moorland and valleys, and is a key spot for walkers and visitors to the North York Moors National Park

The Sundial

The Sundial in Gillamoor, North Yorkshire, is a historic, Grade II listed structure erected by John Russell on August 27, 1800, notable for its multiple dials (meridian and vertical) and a Time Equation table.
